Accommodations for the Maratona
Our Maratona dles Dolomites cycling trips are not all about the riding. There are few things more enjoyable in life than returning from a beautiful ride to beautiful and relaxing accommodations.
Corvara - Ciasa de Munt
We have chosen the Ciasa de Munt "Mountain House" for its unique combination of modern design and warm hospitality. Located in the charming village of Corvara where the Maratona dles Dolomites finishes, the entire town is surrounded by spectacular mountain views.
In addition to the hotel's facilities for bicycles, including secure bike storage and a dedicated wash station, the Ciasa de Munt also has excellent spa facilities. You will enjoy access to a variety of types of saunas, a steam room, and a unique contrast bath for your legs that will promote relaxation and get those tired muscles ready for your next ride.
The rooms are spacious and offer extremely comfortable beds. A hearty breakfast is provided each morning to get you properly fueled up for your ride. The Casa da Munt is located only a few paces from the Maratona finish line, making it the ideal base for this incredible event.
Merano - City Hotel Merano
With it's pedestrian town center surrounded by mountains, the elegant spa town of Merano (Meran in German) is the perfect base for outdoor activities. Famous for its world class thermal baths and Habsburg history, Merano is also strategically located directly along the bike path joining the South Tirol and the Venosta Valley, the take off point for the Passo dello Stelvio. The centrally-located City Hotel Merano offers the ideal base for a stay in Merano, offering both an in-house spa as well as close proximity to the thermal baths (Terme) and the historic city center. The modern yet cosy rooms and public area of the hotel will ensure you are ready for your next day's challenges.
Bormio - La Genzianella
As host to one of the most challenging downhill runs on the ski World Cup, Bormio is well known as a ski town. But it has also emerged as a cycling mecca in the summer months, given its strategic location at the foot of both the Passo dello Stelvio and Passo Gavia, with the Passo dello Mortirolo also not far away. In addition to its ideal location for those wanting to go uphill on their bikes, Bormio is also a charming town that maintains it's authentic mountain character and traditions.
La Genzianella can best be described as a cyclists dream. A dedicated bike maintenance area and monitored bike room are complemented by a beautiful spa with sauna that offer the perfect antidote to a hard day in the saddle. Beautifully appointed rooms with views on the mountains and a cosy lounge area with restaurant round out this definition of the perfect bike hotel.
I was more than satisfied and had a terrific time. The riding, routes, hotels, the Giro watching spots, dinner spots…all top notch. It felt very "bespoke" without being stuffy. Bob and Caterina and Puppers…Italy’s best hosts. I will return…Stelvio next!
"CyclingHero: really, the best cycling experience of my life, bar none."
"If you want to book a cycling trip in Italy in the Dolomites and Prosecco Hills region, then CyclingHero is the tour company for you! The personal touch and attention to detail will allow you to enjoy your vacation and experience the Italian culture."
"What a great trip! We were comfortable from start to finish with the itinerary, logistics, routes, directions, app, places to go post-ride, etc. What an experience. Across the board it was awesome and we are planning on taking another tour."
"This CyclingHero adventure was absolutely amazing - I saw parts of Italy that I'd never likely see during a normal tourist visit, all while doing what I love more than anything - cycling! The terrain was incredible, the vistas unforgettable, and the organizers are highly experienced, and thus have thought through all the fine details of a cycling adventure of this sort."
"Everything a cycling trip should be with a twist of technology!"
"What an incredible experience. High end, fantastic hotels, and incredible scenery. I love the concept. I'm not one for organized events with people that I don't know. There can be too much starting, stopping, waiting, and indecision when you have a group of different people of different abilities that don't know each other."
"The selection of hotels, bars and restaurants recommended were top notch, and the whole trip was delivered at a great price considering the high-end nature of the itinerary."
"Without a doubt, the CyclingHero tour was the best cycling week of my 20+ years of cycling. A real challenge, but perfectly curated, and with excellent support throughout the trip."
"The itinerary was very well thought out and rides built on each other, culminating in a spectacular climb of the Monte Grappa. A memorable experience - highly recommended!"
